DOD Watch Commends Army Reserve for Taking Action Against Captain’s Political Expression

WASHINGTON – DOD Watch, an organization dedicated to exposing radical policies within the Department of Defense, issued the following statement after the U.S. Army Reserve announced action taken against Captain Christina Winters for speaking out against the Trump administration’s policies regarding transgender troops: 

“DOD Watch commends the U.S. Army Reserve for its swift action against Captain Christina Winters. While service members do have the right to personal expression, it is critical that they do not use their position to advance political agendas that undermine the integrity of the military.

“Even if Captain Winters was not in uniform, her outspoken stance on transgender issues in the military is unacceptable. The fact that she was willing to voice such divisive and politically charged opinions while wearing the uniform only exacerbates the situation. Service members should not be pushing controversial ideologies that can compromise unit cohesion or morale. 

“Furthermore, DOD Watch believes that transgender individuals should not serve in the military. The military’s primary mission is to maintain readiness and national security, and it is imperative that all service members align with the military’s standards of physical and mental readiness. We must ensure that only those who meet these standards are allowed to serve. 

“By taking decisive action, the Army Reserve has sent a strong message that it will not tolerate behavior that threatens the unity and discipline of our armed forces. This decision is a step in the right direction as we continue to purge radical ideologies from the military and protect the values of strength, excellence, and unity essential to our national defense.”
