DOD Watch Statement on the Pentagon’s Zero Tolerance Policy for Those Mocking Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

WASHINGTON – DOD Watch, an organization dedicated to calling out radical policies within the Department of Defense, issued the following statement in the wake of the Pentagon’s announcement that there will be no tolerance for any service member who makes inappropriate comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk:

"DOD Watch commends the Pentagon for its firm and principled stand in implementing a zero-tolerance policy toward any military personnel who mock or celebrate the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk. The assassination of an American citizen who encouraged public debate is not a subject for derision or ridicule, especially among those who wear the uniform of our nation.

“The Department’s swift response reflects a long-overdue return to discipline, professionalism, and moral clarity within the ranks. We are encouraged to see leadership take a clear stance in defense of traditional military values: honor, respect, and unity. 

“Those entrusted with defending our nation must be held to the highest standards. There is no room for political grandstanding, contempt, or cruelty–particularly in the face of domestic political violence. We urge continued vigilance and enforcement of this policy to ensure that the Armed Forces remain a model of integrity and strength. It is patently obvious the military is on the verge of succumbing to a rot that is vile and anti-American. This reasonable and obvious accountability is only the beginning. ”
