WASHINGTON – DOD Watch issued the following statement after Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced the Department of War is extending its COVID-19 reinstatement and return to service guidance by an additional year.

“DOD Watch commends Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for taking another step toward restoring strength and readiness within our armed forces. Extending reinstatement opportunities is part of a broader effort to correct misguided, politically driven policies of the Biden administration that sidelined capable service members.

“At a time of growing global threats, our military must be focused on excellence, cohesion, and mission readiness, not distracted by divisive, woke agendas. If highly qualified warriors were pushed out, it is imperative we welcome them back. America’s security depends on having the best of the best in uniform. This action reflects a renewed commitment to the core values that have long defined our military: strength, merit, and unity of purpose.”

About DOD Watch: DOD Watch is dedicated to examining and informing the public about wokeness in the Department of War. By increasing public awareness of radical policies and practices infiltrating the Pentagon, DOD Watch aims to return the U.S. military to its mission of national defense through the traditional values of strength, excellence, and unity. ###
